We feel a deep connection to the landscape. Experiencing the outdoors has a powerful and lasting effect and we seek it out again and again.
So what is it that creates that emotional connection? Are these feelings universal or different for everyone?
For me it's the patterns, colours and shapes that I see. It's the sound of the wind in the trees; the smell of the first day of Spring. It's the echoes of times long past.
Painting is my way of exploring what makes it feel so special to be in a particular place and time. I am seeking to understand my own emotional response to the landscape.
The process of creating art is exciting and allows for endless learning. There is no predetermined path to follow, so I focus on working towards a more authentic self-expression and a stronger connection with other people.
My hope is that my work reflects your own experience of our amazing natural world.
